Cruising By The Lake

My better half has been trying to get me to go bike riding with him and this morning was such a nice one I said yes! I bought a beach cruiser like this about 3 years ago and have admittedly only rode it 3 or 4 times. We went up to the lake and rode along the dam. Total was 4 miles. I am proud of myself :) I didn't quit!! I want to make this a regular weekend activity. I want to get more active since my better half is training for a marathon!!

Crepe Paper Garland

I have been sewing like a mad woman. I plan to use these crepe paper garlands on the bottom of my diaper/towel cakes to finish off the look. I have a Bachelorette towel cake all ready to go and a Diaper cake. I am going to make a light box to take professional looking pictures of the cakes. I hope to have pictures up by Wednesday. Take a look at the site www.babiesandbrides.blogspot.com

Think Pink

I was not planning on going to the thrift store, but the temptation was too hard to resist. I found this adorable pink cow ( a creamer maybe) and this beautiful pink baby girl album. The pictures in this album are to die for. Its in perfect condition and I scored it for 50 cents.

Frame

I thought I would go and browse my local thrift store (I had $10 burning a hole in my pocket) and that was my limit. I walked away with a large mixing bowel for my Hamilton Beach mixer for $6.95, three packs of gold letter stickers for.25 cents a piece and this beautiful gold frame for $1 (plastic). I'm not sure yet what I want to do with it just yet.

One Dollar Frame

I found this small plastic oval frame, and knew what I wanted to do with it right away. So I primed it in white craft paint, then added a glossy pink, let it dry. I had found this adorable silhouette on line with one of another girl I will use in a later project, isn't she sweet. I shrunk it down to size to fit in the frame and painstakingly cut it out with regular size scissors. I glued it on a scrap piece of paper that says "oh so sweet".

Doll Suitcase

I picked up these adorable orange suitcases at my local thrift store. I got them each for $2 and hey are full of sewing notions, measuring tape, felt pieces, straight pins and embroidery floss. The stitching around is blue and the handles are a vibrant blue. I usually see these types of suitcases in many craft rooms, now I have them in mine :)

Towel Cake

Tomorrow is the bridal shower so I made her gift, a towel cake. I think it came out nice. I used ribbon in the color her towels were, the ice blue to fasten each roll together and the thick chocolate ribbon to hold all the layers in place. Total is 4 large towels and two face towels stuck in the middle of the first and second layer.
