Happy Easter!

Happy Easter everyone!! I hope the Easter bunny surprised you with lots of goodies. Even though I am older my mom still gives us an Easter basket ;) look at all theses goodies.

Happy Spring!

So today is the first official day of spring! I can feel it too, pretty warm out side. Monday we celebrated St. Patrick's day with a drink (of course) Here is what my guy drinks, it's called an Irish car bomb ( how appropriate for the holiday) Its a mixture of Guinness, Irish cream and Irish whiskey. You drop the shot glass of the cream and whiskey and chug it. He claims it tastes like chocolate milk, to me it looks like it would taste like a root beer float :)

Pegboard Update

So I was looking at the white pegboard on my white wall and it looked sad. Since we wont be painting the walls anytime soon I decided to paint the pegboard. I was kinda iffy on the color, but when we do paint the house I want it to be in the yellow family. I took a risk and painted it up on the wall. It was so easy I will wait to paint the other piece when its on the wall too it is going up soon. What do you think, I just took the pic so it will get a tad darker.It looks a lot brighter against the white wall. The color is called "Colonial Yellow" It gives life to the room.

Thrifty Finds

So on Tuesdays my love goes to school after work, and I don't get to see him until he gets out at 9:30pm. So this is my time during the hectic week to go visit my favorite thrift store Salvation Army. I get into town at 5pm and it closes at 6pm so I have to be quick, I can spend up to two hours in that thrift store. So this is what I came home with. I'm not sure what this is, my love said it looked like a letter holder. I fell in love with the gold and clear crystal like base. I got this beautiful black and white framed photo. I just love the metallic green matte it's in.Isn't she beautiful (I wish I could go back in time). The pic is a little loose so I will have to tape it back in place. The photo is signed and I can't really make out what it says. Let me know if you have any ideas. All this for just under $10 :) A good day!

LIBRA - The Lame One

Nice to everyone they meet. Their Love is one of a kind. Silly, fun and sweet. Have own unique appeal. Most caring person you will ever meet! However, not the kind of person you want to mess with... you might end up crying... Libras can cause as much havoc as they can prevent. faithful friends to the end. Can hold a grudge for years. Libras are someone you want on your side. Usually great at sports and are extreme sports fanatics. Kinda dumb at times.
Most of this is dead on, but I am not great at sports and I'm defiantly not a fanatic!

Peg Board

So today my handy man put up one slat of peg board for me, he would have finished it but I only bought one peg board kit, I plan on having another right below this. I am so excited to hang my notions and other trinkets on instead of them all over my table and on the floor. We have been in this house for a year and a half and my sewing room is on its way to be how I dreamed it to be.Oh the possibilities. Check back to see it finished!

Ornamental Treasures

I thought I would share some pics in this book I found at the thrift store. Title "Ornamental Treasures You Can Make" The pictures are nice and I figured they sell ornaments for just about every holiday now, (Halloween, Christmas, Valentines, Easter ect...) why not make them myself! The book has really simple instructions and all these ornaments are made using Styrofoam balls, scrap fabric, and various other notions. Hope you enjoy :)

And I came across her Shamrock Broach tutorial with print out. Takes no time at all and came out so sparkly. You can use the print out as is or you can cut from scrapbook paper, and fabric. I will be making tons of these all different kinds of ways.
