Quick Craft

So this is the big weekend for Andrew his half marathon (13 miles) at Disneyland!! He has been working his butt of for the past three months training for this day (Sunday). This man dedicates himself 100% to anything he puts his mind to. He is my hero! So with that said I will be cheering him on in the sidelines wearing this shirt I made
" Kick ASSphalt Andrew". I wanted something bright so he can see me (he will be wearing a similar color shirt on race day), I will be taking tons of pics this weekend of him and the race. GO ANDREW!!

Sign, Sealed, Delivered!

I sent out my application to be a vendor at this years Craft Bazaar!! I had to pull out last year because I applied on short notice, and didn't have enough time to make my items. My sister will be making some of her delicious jewelry to sell at my booth, she makes the prettiest stuff. I still have a ways to go before I have everything on my list checked off (I have more ideas in my head) but I need to first finish the things on that darn list. Deep breath, fingers crossed, and hope that I get it all done in time.

To Do

One of my things is making lists. I make a list for everything, the big one I am working on is the to do list for the Bazaar in October. I have so many projects to get finish and started on I need help. I have two months to get everything on that list done,so to help me out my sister is coming over and hopefully we will be able to get some things on that list checked off :) I am starting work again on the 2ND so most of my weekends will be devoted to getting those projects finished.

Happy Birthday Tori!!

I have to say hands down Tori Amos is my FAVORITE Artist/Performer. I have yet to see her sing live because she mainly tours overseas. Each and every song is amazing, her songs are as beautiful as she is. She is a survivor like myself. Happy Birthday Tori!!

The Color I Am Loving

The color I am loving at the moment is Purple. I am seeing this color pop up in clothing stores all over, and I think this color is going to be big this fall. A couple of weeks ago I went to The Avenue and bought some jeans and I saw this beautiful 3/4 sleeve sweater in the prettiest purple, this is the sweater but not in the color I want. Today I went to target to try and find some shirts and I went to the shoe section just to look, and I saw these gorgeous jewel color purple suede flats. They were on sale!, so I got them. I really love colorful shoes because I usually wear neutral tones and lots of black and it makes my outfit pop. I am on the look out for some yellow shoes I saw at Ross but I didn't see them when I went today.

Old Notions

I was talking on the phone with my sister a few days back and we had both seen these small shadow boxes at the local dollar store. Here is her creation Head vs. Heart using the shadow boxes, and here is mine. I had these old spools of thread and knew I wanted to display them but had them sitting in a glass jar that was way to big for them and really couldn't appreciate them. So I gave the shadow boxes a white wash inside and out with a cream color paint, put scrapbook paper on the inside and used double sided foam squares on the back of each spool since I did not want to ruin them. I think they came out good, I think I just might buy some more!

Out With The Old In With The New

Last night I went through my craft room and did some cleaning, especially my closet! I ended up with a large box of stuff to donate. I really need a shelving unit in the closet, everything is on the floor and up top and a huge gap in the middle. Maybe I can get my Handyman to install some shelving :). So this is what I came home with, 4 mini rolls of vintage wrapping paper in the prettiest pinks and browns, a full top sheet with the sweetest flowers at the bottom for $1.00!!(in great condition) and this sweet little pillow purse in a lavender taffeta with two tags Nordstroms and Aliso Creek Co. Laguna Hills.

Stamp Rack

So this is what I dreamed up, the small dark stained wood shelf in the previous post I got from a thrift store and was sitting in my craft room for a couple of months and I knew what I wanted to do with it but just didn't know what color or direction I wanted to go in. So first I had to sand it, then I primed it and put on a couple of coats if semi gloss paint on. The color is Cucumber Green (from walmart) I chose a semi gloss since I did want to use it as a stamp rack and I could wipe it off if ink got on it. I had bought this vintage retro contact paper at the same thrift store for .50 cents for about 3ft and thought it would look great as the background, so simple! I think it came out great.

Inspiration

This is my inspiration for some projects I am working on. I got these beautiful pictures on flicker. I am loving the minty green and soft pinks at the moment. I should have one of the projects done by tomorrow, so here is a before pic and just try and imagine what I might be doing with it.

Onto The Good Stuff

So now that we have a date set and we put out deposit down, it's time for the good stuff! This is the dress I have been wanting even before we officially got engaged, at Kiyonna.com a beautiful vintage inspired scalloped lace dress in ivory. I was originally going to go for the longer one, but it seemed a little formal for me and this one still keeps in the tradition I still want to maintain with it being white and have lace. I have been growing my hair out for over a year with the occasional trimimg of the ends because I want to wear it down with large curls and a red rose in my hair kinda like this but I also like these syles too. I am choosing not to wear a veil because its not me and just too formal for me. Of course I need a great looking pair of shoes since my dress is tea length and I want to incorporate red accents I chose to wear red shoes. these are along the lines of what I am looking for. Oh I am so excited!

Wish List

So my Birthday is coming up and I have been thinking about what I want (need) not that this is in any way a cheap ploy for my family to go out and get me anything, but rather a wish list kinda like the ones kids make for x-mas. I am just putting out good vibes into the universe and maybe just maybe they will show on my doorstep :). Oh and to give my guy a clue as to what I want :) I love this man very much, but sometimes I don't think he knows my taste at all..lol
OK, so first is a a dress form I have been wanting one forever, to dress up of course. Second I am in desperate need of a new purse, and I saw this one on www.shopsueyboutique.com in black. Third, I want a new chair for my craft room, its simple and at they have cute colors ( I like the pink but im digging the light green more). And last a light fixture for my craft room.

Got Paper?

So my sister asked me to think of some ideas for her bedroom which she is decorating in a shabby chic/romantic theme. I was browsing the web and came across some really cute and whimsical ideas for her bedroom. With an enormous variety of beautiful and unique paper out there to choose from why not use it as a decoration in your home. It shouldn't be limited to just celebrations ( parties ect.) I think with a variety of graphic papers in her colors this mobile like thingy would look cute over her side table, or this cute banner above her bed with a cute saying like sweet dreams, and who doesn't love these tissue pom poms, they would look great over a bed in various sizes to act as kind of a chandelier. These are just some ideas but a bedroom shouldn't be too serious, it should be a room that you enjoy looking at and hanging out in.

Dead Head

I am working on another project for the Bazaar and here is a little sneak peek at what I am doing. I was doing a little research and I came across this really amazing video. Here is the description:"It's hard enough falling in love when you're alive — imagine what it's like in the after world. Watch as a dead guy and dead gal fall in love through a series of short, sweet sentimental segments". Created by Lee Lanier and Jeffrey Dates.

I Want To Be A LOSER!!

So its official we have a date set! My love and I will be married October 31st 2009.
So this is why I want to be a loser!! I bought The Biggest Loser workout DVD yesterday and just finished the first level workout and I seriously thought I was gonna die! I knew I was out of shape but I was done just from the warm up. I have fourteen months to get my butt into shape, not just for the wedding but for my future (our future). I saw the doctor in march and told me I am pre-diabetic. I thought he was just trying to scare me but that was just me being in denial. So I hope to be a big looser, of weight that is.
