A Quickie!

I thought I would share what I picked up at the thrift store, this really pretty candle ring (that's what it says on the tag). Its the softest shades of aqua and peach. I will most likely pick it apart and use the flowers on my projects.

I Got Ideas!

I finally took down my Easter decorations :( I was sad to see my mantle so bare. And since it is the time to start planting I had this idea to still utilize my collection of glass domes, I decided I want to make little terrariums like the ones in the pictures. I want them to be in the terracotta pots with some moss and plants not flowers. I want to use fake plant because I kill anything living :)

Gift Basket

One of my co-workers is having a baby and we are going to throw her a little shower at work. One of my favorite things to give as a gift is a gift basket, and I always try to add a little homemade gift of my own. I made her a little quilted heart, its simple but sweet. I made the basket lining all on my own (not perfect) but it does the job :) In it is a package of bottles, trail size lotions and powder, 2 packages of washcloths and some very cute new chipboard letter that I jot at Joann's it spells the baby's name "Tegan" isn't it a cute name! her name is going to be
Tegan Avelaka it means Beautiful Butterfly in Luiseno (Native American)

Crafting Day!

Monday my sister came over and we did some crafting, she got to finish up a project she was working on and I started AND finished a project for mothers day. It is a prayer book for kids but I know my mom will appreciate it just as much :) the pictures are of the sweetest little kids. All it needs is to be sewed down the middle and WaLa! Fabric book! Oh and my sister taught me how to knit!! KNIT, me actually knitting :)I'm amazed.

More Thrifty Finds

So every other Saturday I get to visit my goodwill in the next town over since I have class in the area. These are some of my finds, I found this really beautiful quilt, its small maybe used for a lap quilt or baby quilt. Its soft green/cream and came with two little pillows, sweet isn't it. Another one of my great finds is this Dutch hook and latch wall hanger. It is of the four seasons and my guy took the liberty of going online to translate what is on it. It translates to "Leathers our days count" I think its Amish or Pennsylvania Dutch, look at the pictures they have horse and buggy's and some symbols ( a cross, an anchor, and heart) On the top it has a date of 1960. I want to do a little more research on it, I think is beautiful and I got it for $1.99 I plan to frame it and display it in my living room

Thrift Store Finds!

Here are some of my finds since I last posted. Every first and last Friday of the month my local thrift store does a 50% off entire store extravaganza. I hit it up last Friday and it was crazy. Here is what I found, this really delicate crystal (plastic) tree in perfect condition, don't know what I want to display on it yet but it pretty. I have found some large rolls of crepe paper, cream, pink, lavender, fuchsia, and yellow. I also found this really pretty table cloth in a powder blue/turquoise color and a set of 4 cream color hankies. Just a few of my thrifty treasures.
